If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?

Truthfully, I would get my wedding ring tattooed on me, because after 25 years of being with my husband and with all the shit I have been  through. I can honestly say without hesitation “my wedding ring”, because if no one knew I have never been a ring person, the most is wearing thumb rings all the time, but I could never get used to an actual ring. For one I have never been a normal chick, because of the fact that I have never been a jewelry type of person, so when my husband was getting me gifts in the beginning he was like trying to spoil me with different jewelry and I told him “NO” because I would then tell him to get me tools and at first he was hesitant thinking I was just joking and nope eventually he saw that I loved tools.

Plus I would take the tattoo on account of the fact that I do handle pain very well and in almost all cases of getting tattooed that I have fallen asleep like a little baby. Overall I describe it as a wonderful massage that leaves its trace by the artist. Also I may be old, but I ain’t dead yet and I would love to continue getting tattoos, but the last tattoo I got was from my tattoo artist named Mando who used to work at House of Pain and Notorious. I have had other artists work on me and believe me I am picky when it comes to my tattooists. My very first tattoo was done by a guy named George, who owned House of Pain and from what I was told he was high on heroin when he gave me my “N” tattoo on my left hand to represent my husband’s first name. I was 18 and new in El Paso, but I went there.

After George the next artist that worked on me was named Ernie and he was the one that tattooed my last name “Nelson” on my right shoulder in Samoan letters. Mando would later add a design that I drew around the name as well as giving me my “Joker” tattoo that is on my right upper ankle. I would get more tattoos until Mando would transfer to Boss Frog tattoo in Dallas. Later I went back to El Paso and got a couple other tats done and they were done by a guy named Jerry. Other than that it’s been awhile, but I do miss it. Pain is pleasure and in between!
