What’s the best way to explore a new city?

When it comes to me and exploring a new city, if I have never been there, which is kind of rare for me, because I am the type that loves to travel and explore the world. The answer would have to be without expecting too much and just being a nosey, curious person that wants to see this and that. I have traveled to various places over my lifetime and when I come to a new place I look for the things that I am interested in and book various activities. Sometimes you have to just take a chance and roll the dice. There are moments that it seems like it may have been a bad idea, but then everything unfolds and it was well worth the time and effort. Then again there are those places that I have been to before and there are new things that I can see and take in those memories again. Like when I took my family to Laughlin, Nevada and they were amazed at how much that I knew being there, but then again I am older so this time I could enjoy the alcoholic beverages.

The last time that I was in Laughlin I was 14 years old and I remember that I went to watch Alien Resurrection, while my parents went to watch The Perfect Storm. At that time the Colorado bell was still open and I can literally say that I have been inside that Casino before they closed it, due to repairs and also the fact that it is considered haunted. This time that we went we stayed in the same hotel we stayed in when I was 14 and that was Edgewater. The only difference is the fact that we have a service dog and he is like our son, so he gets spoiled and shown off since he is so handsome. When we went the Colorado river was low and I mean you could see the bottom of the riverbed, when years ago it looked like a dangerous form of nature that you would see others enjoying the jet skis and what not. I guess I was just born a wanderer and that is why I am Navajo and a nomad. Constantly moving all the time.

I used this same mentality when I was stationed in Korea, so I saw sights like the Castle in Seoul, Seoul Land, E-Market, and various malls. I can even say that I have eaten Outback in Korea along with Burger King, and Subway. These were all off base, but I took my chances sometimes and that is why I have so many stories. Also when I was in Korea I traveled to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), which stands between North and South Korea. I mean I have even been in those little rooms where they have to make negotiations and are on guard duty 24/7, but I have been there as well as in Tokyo. If you have never been to Japan I can tell you that a Won is nowhere near a Yen. Other than that it’s best to just go in blindly sometimes.
