What’s the best local dish you’ve ever eaten while traveling?

I have travelled to various places and eaten at various restaurants but I do know for a fact that there are places that stay with me and when I go back it is something I have to always eat while I am there! So one of these places that have stayed with me is whenever we would go to Durango and wanted a breakfast for champs. To find this is to go to a diner on main street called “Durango Diner.” My favorite all time meal here is the Chili Relleno Omelet that is then drenched with their green chile sauce. They fry the relleno to the perfect crunch and that sauce with that crunch, so worth the drive and time spent trying to get there. My mouth is watering right now that I am writing about this, because when I get to eat this I know that my mission has been completed. 

Plus I am not really a breakfast person and for me to talk about this is rare, but trust me it is the best if you like them chili rellenos and the green chile that comes from New Mexico. Maybe next time I should order two, so I can take one home for a snack later. Other places that are worth mentioning when it comes to Durango is Machos, a mexican type cantina and they have various types of mexican dishes. My favorites are the flautas along with their enchiladas and beans and rice. Now if you are a beer drinker and look forward to different types try visiting the Steamworks. Great food, great beer and a lively group of people that eat and drink there. 

It seems like every time that I travel here I always find something new, like the last time we were here and found the drinking spot at Ernie’s with the food trucks. I still hate that they did away with our favorite food to go to when it was still there and that is “The switchbacks”. Now this place was the best place to get tacos and now they are gone and I think it’s a Tavern now instead. I know I will always miss those tacos. Aside from all of these suggestions, always explore where you go, because then you can tell others to go here or there. Plus if you want really good weed here in this city, try  Sante Marihuana Dispensary. To find them they are located in a back alley near Grassburger or just behind the Leland House.
