Well to really take the time to think about something pretty quick would probably be the factor that this year in the beginning I paid and booked something out of the blue and yes it was a surprise for my husband more than I. So for those that really know me they know that the one music that I have always enjoyed was Reggaeton! The music that Daddy Yankee brought and then I fell for Alexia Y Fido, well technically just Fido, because his voice and how he is was the one thing that I admired in him always and has helped me stay sane as far as I know from the 2003’s until now! I mean I have all their albums and I even went as far as to tattoo the “F” that Fid has on his right forearm, the exact place that I got my tattoo, because I wanted to show how dedicated I was to this guy and his music. Now you’re probably wondering where I am going with this and you will find out soon. I myself am a full blooded Navajo from the Navajo Nation, but I do speak several languages and Spanish happens to be one.
However, I have been around many Spanish speaking people and I know the differences in the tones and just the way that they speak. That in itself is hard if you really think about it because you can go from Spanish spoken by a Puerto Rican versus Mexicans or even Cubanos and not each is the same. So aside from knowing my Spanish and flowing with the music that I sing, eventually I pick up other musicians and music. Meaning at some point I found Peso Pluma and he has done some collabs with artists that I admire and after hearing more and more of his music I decided that I wanted to see him and I took my chance and out of the blue reserved tickets for a March show in Albuquerque. The concert I got the tickets for was for Peso Pluma and his cousin Tito Double P along with other people that support them and also sing alongside these two great artists.
So surprised my husband and I booked a place to stay and just waited until we needed to get our seats, which we started at 1800 and we did not get to see anything until around 9 and I really feel that was because of the whole ICE issue and I have a feeling that some people did not get through because that was also the night that people did see that Peso was frustrated. Aside from that my husband was showing me off by telling this couple and their friend that I booked the concert and that I learned all the lyrics before we went and I’m a Navajo! Small world is the fact that these people were from El Paso and we mentioned that we used to live there and now we live in Gallup, but of course with my gift of gab I was really talking to them and they were also staying at the same hotel that we were at as well! Overall it was the most spontaneous I have been and believe me it was well worth it and I look forward to more concerts with my husband!
