The longest trip that you,ve ever taken?

Daily writing prompt
What’s the longest trip you’ve ever taken?

I guess I would have to say the first time I took my family to New York City and stayed in Jackson Heights at the time with my brother in laws. The initial plan was to stay there for a week after Christmas, but because of the weather that year we ended up staying an extra week since the planes were grounded by the winter storm. When you looked outside it was like a winter wonderland everywhere, but you could still see that the wind was blowing the snow left and right. We stayed warm inside and aside from running out of my sleep meds the extra week was tiresome. Well in my case it was due to the fact that I was not sleeping and literally awake all night. That year it was cold, I mean even colder than the days I had to be outside in the cold in Korea.

This was when we visited the library from Ghostbusters and then we went to Bryant park where we did a little shopping. Then there were these nights that we saw the huge Christmas tree that is always in New York. Plus we were on fifth avenue watching the light show that Saks was displaying. Of course we walked around Manhattan shopping and finding interesting places that serve coffee, tea, and other little treats. It was cold as hell, but when I got the chance to pay for a horse carriage ride in Central park that is what I enjoyed the most. It also helps that I am a true Sex and the City fan and I wanted to do various things and one being this carriage ride. We also visited the One center where they were memorializing the people who died on 9/11. Now that it was a high rise, I think we were on the like 110 floor and wow, my husband didn’t want to get too close to the windows. We also caught a ferry after we visited the Statue of Liberty. I would have paid to go to Ellis Island as well or even walk up the inside of the statue, but I was satisfied with just seeing the place and doing a little shopping for souvenirs that I can take to my family and friends. After that we just chilled at home and waited for the day that we were able to travel home. Of course this would not be the last time we would visit New York because we would return 2 more times and the 2nd time was when we went for Thanksgiving and this is also when I finally got my friend Nikko in New Jersey, aside from all that I loved being in NYC!
