How many languages do you know?

Well the quick simple answer would be 3, which is English, Navajo, and Spanish, so in other words I am a Polyglot. However, that does not mean I can’t speak anything else. Of course I pick up words here and there, but for the most part I get all the important words or sentences that I may need to use in various areas of the US. For sure yes, I do speak a little Hangugeo of what they speak in South Korea and when I used to go down range to shop sometimes I would use the words I learned and I have to say this was a great country, just the idiots that I had to deal with in 2nd Platoon. The Navajo I know though is through the years of helping my grandma herd sheep, my parents and auntie’s and uncle’s that spoke to me.

As for my spanish well I learned when I was in school Spanish I and II, but when I got into the Army I won’t lie, but I have always been followed around by Puerto Ricans. From basic was Pvt. Jackson, and then when I went to AIT (advanced individual training) where I met and followed my favorite drill sergeant of all time and his name was Drill Sergeant Camacho!! Now this mutherfucker was hardcore, because he wasn’t just an Army drill sergeant, but he was also prior Marine, so I looked up to him. He would never let me slack even when I made that choice, because there was one day that I was in run formation and I thought, “I’m going to be lazy today” and decided to run in C group. To my surprise my drill sergeant found me and yelled “Private Nelson, get your butt back in B formation because I was not a slow runner.

That was probably the day that I realized he was there for me and eventually I hung around him enough to find out that I had picked up his accent, but with the help of other Puerto Ricans in my life like Negron and Nikko is the fact that they have all looked out for me like a little sister. That is why I have such a big love for them and try to keep them near me. Once I got into reggaeton that was it. I started flowing to Daddy Yankee since he stepped into the scene first and then I fell in love with Fido and that is the person I will always love, but they each refined my spanish and now when it comes to jamming to my reggaeton I literally sound completely fluent, but overall I have always tried to improve my languages. I pick up German, Russian, Arabic, and any other language that seems important or will help me to upgrade the knowledge I already know!
