Well how can I put it, I pretty much grew up in the hospital because that is where I would have to wait everyday until my dad would get off work at 1630. I always got out a 1500, but there was always that time when dad had to pick me up! So I can definitely show you where everything used to be, before they renovated the hospital as much as they did. I mean I bet not many realized that there used to be a snack bar downstairs where you could get tamales and every type of food you could think of. I guess to start, my parents were or have always worked at Gallup Indian Medical Center. I would have to say that a good amount of my family has worked throughout the hospital.
My dad was a Biomedical Engineer, and my mom was the Supervisor for Housekeeping, so that is where my legacy began. I had an aunt that worked in Human Resources even though that woman is not smart at all. I have two cousins that were Nurses Assistants especially since one went to school to be a nurse and never passed the tests. Her brother would become a worked in the sterilization of medical equipment. Now I have another cousin that is working in the medical records office, because he can’t do anything else because he always cries. I swear we are the only hospital out there that is still stuck in the stone ages. Imagine he gets let go, what is he going to do for work? Should have studied harder rather than fucking around with all the whores of his high school.
Yes, I have also worked in GIMC and I have started at the bottom to get to where I wanted. So I started working in the Housekeeping department as another one trying to provide for their family. Eventually I would transfer to Tohatchi Health Center, where I also worked as Housekeeping, but before I had transferred the supervisor of Information Technology stated that he could help me if I got a degree in it. So what did I do, well I went back to school in 2015 for Information Technology. Great thing is I got a good taste of what it was to be IT, but unfortunately I never stayed, but I did go for my Master’s. However, I feel like my brain still needs nourishment of information. I also had an Uncle that worked in CSR or sterilization, but he passed when I was still in high school, but I do what I do to provide and have fun with my family. We all have to start at the bottom, when we want to make it to the top. Some are better at it than others! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
