What makes you a different breed of woman?

Wow, where to start on this? Well since I was born I have always been a tomboy, but that is also what my mom passed to me. However, the older I got my mom tried to get me to wear dresses and act girly. Hell no, I have always hung around the guys as well. From the beginning of Kindergarten and until today I have always had more guys as friends than chicks. For one thing I can’t stand many chicks, but my friends consist of mainly males. Also growing up I was always being active, playing various sports, and even exploring my backyard on foot. I guess you could say that I know what hard work is, compared to these youngsters that think everything is going to be handed to them. Nah, not me, my dad to me seemed like he was trying to raise me as a son, because I don’t know any other chicks that would learn the things I do.

My favorite sport to play was always basketball, and I was usually the only female that played with the guys. I can play all sports no problem, but I cannot play volleyball to save my life haha. Everything else no problem, plus I have helped my dad for years when it came to building certain structures. When I was in high school, my dad taught me how to change the oil and a tire if I ever needed it. Then of course there is that side of me that is a cowgirl! I have been riding horses since I was 4 and as many times that I have gotten bucked off, or squished with the weight of my horse, but no matter what I don’t back down, so I am a huge threat to my family. I am also the first female on either side of my mom or dad’s family to join the Army. I did have a 4 year scholarship paid in full at NMSU, where I would have wanted to study being a biomedical engineer, but I took a different path.

That path led to me ending up in the Signal Corp. and going through the shit that I had gone through. I am also the first and only Information Technology Specialist within the family and believe me, I have earned each and every degree that I have. Aside from having construction knowledge, I was also knowledgeable in taking care of my truck, and from time to time I would have to help my dad dig 6-8 feet of dirt in order to create the outhouse waste collector. Sometimes I would have to help dig trenches, but mainly for creating a new foundation or running lines from one area to the next. Also my family will state that I watch a lot of horror movies, but I am also partial to those action flicks along with martial art movies. Overall I am just not like all the others!
