To tell you the truth, I have always been into computers. Ever since I was able to play games on those old Apple PC’s that the school had. You know those 3.5 inch floppy discs. I guess you can say that I have always been tech savvy and with that I picked up various items and would learn about what I am doing right away. I mean when I was 5 and Christmas came around, my parents got me my first game console which was the Nintendo NES console. This is what I took to right away and have been playing games on the TV for a long time. Then I moved up to the Super NES, I played a Sega Genesis, a Nintendo 64, the Nintendo Cube, Xbox, and the one I cannot forget is playing the Atari. Then around 9 ish I was given my first computer, which happened to be utilizing Windows 3.1. From there it upgraded to Windows 95 and so on, since storage and memory go up with every new computer, or laptop.
Besides the fact that I have always had sort of gaming activity with different consoles, but the moment that I really got into computers, was the day that my dad decided to ask his co-worker to work on his computer. His name was Gilbert and he knew a lot and it fascinated my brain in more ways than one. Besides the fact that I also had. slight crush on Gilbert, because anytime he came over I would stay and watch. Learning new things here and there. Now when it came to picking my career for the Army I was originally going for the medical field, but according to my ASVAB I was off by 2 points, same with me going to officers school at West Point. So I had to chose something else and I think electronic wise and eventually find Cable Systems Installer/Maintainer. Just another way of saying that I keep the Army connected to the rest of the world. After I returned home and was discharged I ended up just staying home and maintaining the cleanliness.
In 2010 is when I decided to go back to school and I was going to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where I received my first degree in Web Design and Interactive Media. After moving back to Gallup, my husband gets a job with my mom and eventually I would apply at Gallup Indian Medical Center as a Housekeeper and was approached by an IT Specialist that stated if I got a degree in Information Technology he would hire me. So now I was on a mission, eventually I would go to Kaplan for a degree in Information Technology. When I get that chance to work as an IT Specialist, I am loving it because my brain is being exercised. I don’t think I was the fit that they wanted and after I stop working, I decided that I wanted to go to school again and for the same thing but more advanced in reference to Security and Assurance. Even though I accomplished all this Gilbert had gone from Biomedical Engineer and years later is a full fledge doctor in the medical field.
