Why did your mom divorce her first husband?

To believe my mom was actually married to someone else, well from what I was told my mom married her high school sweetheart or so she thought! My mom had her first child at the age of 18, which was my sister Bert. Then my mom had my brother Bob at the age of 21, funny thing is that is the age I was when my daughter was born! However, my mom had two kids with this man, but from the time they graduated and until she divorced him when she was 23. The reason for the divorce was due to the fact that my mom was being physically abused by her husband. Eventually she would fight to be free of this person.

Years after that when my mom was 35, she got married to my dad here in Gallup, New Mexico. They got married in a church located on Aztec. My dad was a christian reform and my mom was baptist. At the time that they were getting married my dad was 33. To years after they wed in May I was born and would be the only child that my dad would have. The reason for this, is the fact that my dad hated the pain my mom went through and didn’t want her to go through that again. When my parents married, at that time my brother was like 15, sister was 17 and ready to get out of there, since she couldn’t stand my mom and wanted to leave. At 18 she was gone, because she couldn’t stand my mom’s rules.

Overall the trauma of the abuse that my mom had, I guess she just let my dad be the way he was with me. Funny thing is one day my mom told me that I need to get over my rapes, but when will she get over her abuse. So I went ahead and got rid of my family that has no meaning whatsoever to me, I do remember at one point I was with my niece and we argued over her grandpa and the way he treated my mom. Years later of course her ex-husband would go to jail for rape and move to the Philippines because he’s better off there. Of course my sister thinks that the sun shines out of her dad’s ass and that he can do no harm. She is soooooo blind, but glad I’m not related completely.
