This is the truck of my dreams and I love it in both GMC and Chevy styles, as you can see this is a custom version, but very gorgeous. Not sure why I chose this truck, but since the beginning when I started to learn to drive, I was taught in a truck. Not just any truck, but my mom’s teal green, step side, K1500 Sierra. I started learning when I was 14. I got my license when I was 15, so with the math that means I have been driving for 28 years. I don’t remember the year that my mom got, but my dad ended up getting a 1995 K1500 Sierra, step side and white, with a 5.7L engine or what would be called a Hemi. For the most part all our vehicles have come from Rico Motors in Gallup. So mainly GMC’s, then Pontiac, Cadillac, and even Hummer. I have known Mickey since I was 5 and when I got older that was where I went to get my trucks.
However, at some point before I was sent to basic, I asked my dad if I could get his truck after I finished basic and AIT(advanced individual training). So when I came back in October my white truck was there for me. I did all my hometown recruiting in that truck and when I met with one of my boyfriends from AIT and he loved my truck. Funny thing is it surprised the hell out of him that it was mine. The picture that you see is my dream, but the truck my dad had was just as gorgeous and that is why I asked.
That white truck is known as “Big Boy”, because of his sheer size and horsepower. I was so attached to this truck that I have even lost my virginity inside that truck. I still have that truck, but right now it is out of commission since the transmission gave out, but the impressive thing is it turned over twice and got to a third, but it didn’t make it. So overall I am a truck person through and through. One day I will get that truck and I will know that part of my life will be complete. If not trucks, we love Jeeps as a family, especially that climbing ability. Also just to add that I love this dream truck so much that my father in law actually purchased a metal model of one and I loved it like crazy. Eventually my daughter took over it and well lets just say she stripped it like if a bunch of people came by and set it on center blocks. It may have been destroyed, but I am very happy that my daughter loved it and the rest is history.
