I joined 2001 and then got out in 2002, but in that time frame I was able to find someone that would be there for me as a true battle buddy. Even till this day we are still in contact with each other, but we were a team that conquered everything that came at us. This guy was stationed at Camp Red Cloud in South Korea and I had seen him when we all got together as a company, but never really knew him until I was transferred to (CRC) Camp Red Cloud. I was actually transferred there because I was the only female in a hall of males and had just got through admitting I was raped.
Not to sure if my battle knows, more than likely he does because we helped each other. He was a Specialist at the time I got to know him at the end of my tour. I was a Private First Class, but I am very grateful for meeting him and having him watch my back. Yes, Negron you know it. I mean hello what about that PT test that we had before I left. I never regretted that change, and I would do it again if I could. However, if I would have to go through arriving at CRC rather than Casey then I would have stayed in the Army more. The only thing that would have sucked is that I would not have met my current husband, my other battle buddy.
Either way I was stationed in CRC with Outside Plant, under SSG. Johnson. This was my new section sergeant and he was really there for me and supporting me through reporting and going through all the bullshit I went through, but I was out. CRC made me feel at home especially with my Puerto Rican buddy. Miss those days when I kept your fridge full with Corona’s and playing games on all the consoles that you had. Miss ya battle but I know where to find you!
